Can I have one job but study for another?

Let's say I am a biotechnologist and want to have an environmental engineering degree.

Yes, this is absolutely acceptable and even to be applauded. Plenty of people do what you are saying; however I would make the following note:

*the key to success in this goal is balance. You have to find the balance between study and work so that neither your study habits/academics or job performance suffer. This is important. Finding this balance can be difficult but if you are devoted to your goal I see no reason why you won't be able to accomplish it. Best of luck to you in this. ☺️

*also, it wouldn't be very wise to tell your employer or chat about it with your coworkers as this could cause added stress at work. This is really just common sense.
