Can I be a doctor and study?

Let's say I am a lab-based genetic doctor and study to have a degree in environmental engineering.

You'd need to study for that second degree part-time, which would be very difficult on a young doctor's schedule, or else take time off from medicine to earn it.

Once you are a doctor no one will care about lesser degrees. You will not be able to afford the time off the job.

Instead, to learn other fields you just self study the information you need as you need it.

Just like my daughter with a PhD in civil engineering specializing in transportation has been self learning about automotive engineering as she is working on regulations for connected cars. .

No. Doctors aren't allowed to study.
