Good deal for the Cubs?

the Cubs traded for White Sox pitcher Jose Quintana. while at glance, he may not seem like a great pitcher, as his ERA is over 4 this year, but he's a long term pitcher, who can give us 200 innings and 200 strike outs. he had a bad April, but has since rebounded. he has a career 3.5 ERA, so will probably be a number three starter, then a number four when Hendricks returns.

While the Cubs gave up for prospects, including their top prospect Eloy Jimenez, an outfielder, they still have guys like Schwarber, Happ or Baez to also trade for another pitcher this month.

Quintana is under team control through 2020, with a very affordable salary for a guy who's 28. Arrieta and Lackey will likely be gone next year, so the Cubs need some long term pitching to replace them.

yes it was a great Deal Eloy wasnt going to get playing time up in the bigs because of how deep the cubs are with Position players we might have given up a good starter in Cease but we can find others the other 2 may or may not develop. Quntana also would be a good replacement for Jake or Lackey as one or both might not be on the roster next year
