    A meter is a measuring device like a voltmeter.

    A kilometre = 1000 metres.

    Kilometer, both in terms of the distance involved and also in terms the number of letters in these words.

    A kilometer is a thousand times bigger than a meter. One kilometer is 1000 meters.

    kilometres is bigger by 1000 times.

    Remember the matric table/

    10 millimetres = 1 centimetre

    100centimetres = 1 metre

    1000 metres = 1 kilometre.

    1 km = 1000meters, so km is larger.

    1 km is over 1/2 mile, whereas a meter is about 3 feet.

    Obviously kilometer. 5 letters compared to 9. Or in other words...1000 to 1.
