All those people who answer no most likely do not understand the role of the UN. It not only is a forum for peace negotiations and peace missions and it is not just a "talk fest" at the General Assembly or the "Security Council". It has many other roles.
The various agencies which look after refugees, international research into medicines and the eradication of diseases. The preservation of international monuments and sites, the research into better food crops and strains and the supply of food supplies during emergencies (floods, droughts, earthquakes etc).
Then there are the many other roles that the UN is involved with. The allocation of radio frequencies around the world for various purposes, the air routes, sea routes, settling border disputes etc in the international court, the "War Crimes" trials, "law of the sea" questions, the "International Whaling Commission" and the list can go on. The UN is involved in making order out of potential chaos in the small, but important areas.
My answer is a firm YES!!, the US should stay in the UN. It should also pay its dues which are around 5 years behind schedule.

Let US decide it. In either case the world isn't the loser.
