    full name -comma -- volume -- reporter -- 1st page -- comma-pinpoint -- paren--year-- close paren-- period. U.S. SCT cases generally also have a parrallel cite using both U.S reported and S.Ct. reporter. If the reporter has several courts, like N.E.2d, then the parenthesis also identifies the court. So, Penn Central Transportation Co. v. New York City, 366 N.E.2d 1271, 1275 (N.Y. App. 1985). I made up the year and the court that issued the opinion.
