it is stupid to ignore them.
if you have a case, then fight them - it's quite easy to win, if you have a good case because the independent appeal panel charges the parking company money to hear the case (although the tribunal doesn't charge the motorist) - therefore it is not worth their time or money to go to independent appeal over a disputed case
if you dont have a case and have dliebrately broken the civil agreement to park on someones land, then you should pay..... on the other hand, the parking company may - or may not - decide to go ahead with a civil court case and you may end end up 'getting away with it' as It costs them time and money to pursue you, and *often* its not worth their while for 1 single instance.
the problem with the person in the recent case was that she ignored multiple parking fines, from the same company in the same place, over a long period of time
therefore, the total amount of fines amounted to £thousands
and, it was well worth the time and effort for the parking company to pursue her
in my view, she was stupid, she was ignorant and she did nothing to help herself. It's no use trying to plead your case and get sympathy, when you have just spent 6 months tearing up tickets and just saying 'bollox to it all'
