There are a total of 52 cards in a deck.

The deck is made up of 4 suits (hearts, spades, diamonds, clubs).

    - hearts and diamonds are red

    - spades and clubs are black.

In each suit, there are 13 ranks (ace, two, three, ..., nine, ten, jack, queen and king)

    - the face cards are the ones with "faces", namely the jack, queen and king

    - check on how your teacher uses the term "numerical" because it may or may not include the aces. If not, then the numerical cards are 2, 3, 4, ..., 10.

So now let's figure out your specific categories.

Diamonds is a suit. There are 4 suits in 13 ranks. So 13 cards in each suit.

    - 13 diamonds

Jacks is a rank. There are 4 suits in each rank.

    - 4 jacks

Aces is also a rank. Same answer as Jacks.

    - 4 aces

Face cards. There are 3 face cards (J, Q, K) in each of the 4 suits.

    - 12 face cards

Numerical cards. If you mean 2 to 10, that's 9 cards in each suit. If you include aces, that's 10 cards in each suit.

    - 36 numerical cards (without aces) or 40 numerical cards (including aces)

Red cards. Two suits (13 cards each) are red, namely hearts and diamonds.

    - 26 red cards

Black cards. Same answer as for red cards.

Eights are a rank, so the same as the answer above for Aces, Jacks, etc.

    - 4 cards in any rank
