Trying to temporarily disable instagram account!!?

I keep trying to disable my instagram account but everytime I do it it takes me back to my main home screen insta page where my news feed is and it doesn't go away! How do I disable it ???

I'll be able to re activate it again once I do right?

    To delete your account go to : - https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN2044.html

    By deleting your yahoo account you also delete your email account.

    By deleting your account you do not delete your questions and answers. They still remain except that no one can see your profile page
