B. 103 K

C. 605 K

D. 1,501 K

2. A balloon contains 2.0 L of air at 101.5 kPa. You squeeze the ballon to a volume of 0.75 L. What is the pressure of air inside the balloon?

A. 406 kPa

B. 101 kPa

C. 812 kPa

D. 270 kPa

3. You place a balloon in a closed chamber at STP. When the balloon doubles in size, what happens to the chamber pressure?

A. The pressure is reduced by one-half.

B. The pressure increases to four times the original pressure.

C. The pressure doubles.

D. The pressure stays the same.

4. In a problem, you are given two volumes and one pressure at a constant temperature and amount of gas. You are asked to find a second pressure. Which law should you use?

    (300 K) x (508 kPa / 101.5 kPa) = 1501 K

    So answer D.

    (101.5 kPa) x (2.0 L / 0.75 L) = 271 kPa

    So answer D.

    A. The pressure is reduced by one-half.

    A. Boyle's law
