is there a (no frustrating )way to peal a shallot,I like to use them in my food preparation ?

    You could place them into boiling water for about a minute and then plunge them into cold water and then they'll peel a lot easier.

    I cut off both ends first,then the skin comes off easily.

    Go to a cooking tool store like Sur La Table. They have a $4 soft rubber tube you insert garlic or shallot's into, then rub on a table. The soft rubber grips the paper and helps tear it off the garlic or shallot.

    Other than peeling it like you would an onion you could try a way much like the little pearl onions.

    Drop it in boiling water for about 30 seconds the peel should slip off easily.

    Look at Youtube for ideas... I find shallots easier than onions to peel.
