Could parents file a restraining order against a 20 year old to stop him from seeing their daughter who is 16?

Yes. Until the child is 19 (Alabama) and has moved out of her parents' house, you both need to comply with the court order. Or they can have you thrown in jail. You don't call the shots. Her parents do.

Oh, yes. And they should. What's wrong with you that you're hanging around with children?

BTW- they can have the order renewed until she's 18.

They can try. If they succeed, it would likely be on till the minor is 18/19 - whatever the age of majority is in that state.
