What speed are you paying for ? If you have DSL and far away from the connection house it can go down in speed. If you are using Hughes Satellite, you again pay for speed. You have dial up, that's not bad.
We need more information, internet type, what you are paying for (I get 175 Mb from Comcast down, but $68 a month !) I was at a vacation home, I believe we had 500Kb. Dreadfully slow. I tried to call the company, but I had to be the homeowner. Our vacation home two years ago had the same problem. It was 5mb, I called them and they knew what I wanted. 30 days and $22 for a boost to 25 Mb. We were only staying 10 days. I added the internet company's phone number to the "house review" so others would know what to do. So you pay for speed, these rentals get a slow speed so they can say "Internet Access" in their advertisements, then you get there and it crawls.
