Hi all, We live in Burbank, CA., Near Glendale and Pasadena. Those are African Green parrots and there are hundreds of them in flocks of hundreds. When 20 or 30 of them come into your neighborhood, the squawking wakes you up in the mornings. They are loud. Just the routine fly by s are enough to wish you had a gun. A few is cute, a few hundred on your street and in the trees is disaster. They rip up the trees and leave junk all over the ground below. They are wild. And rumored to be from a flock at the LA Zoo who got set free many years ago from a fire in Griffith Park. And the other theory is a pet store that caught fire and they escaped. Either story is good, but each year they pair off and multiply. They have no natural enemies. They are bigger than the hawks and just as big as the local crows and ravens. They feed off all the nuts, berries and backyard fruits in our valley. Good luck.
