Do Australians say "smashing", or it that just British people?

    Nearly obsolete British slang, only heard in Australia as a kind of joke.

    "Smashing" meaning "exceptionally good" is British but it is not as common today as it was fifty years ago. Some older Australians and those with a British childhood might still use it.

    I have a friend who says it. The only ones who'd say it are ex-Brits or those raised by ex-Brits..
