Why is Trump picking the CEO of Exxon for Secretary of State when the man has no political experience and is only a businessman?

Since Trump also has no political experience shouldn't he have a Secretary of State who is someone with lots of political experience like Mitt Romney or Rudy Giuliani?

Update:

Is this dangerous?

He has a solid business association with Rosneft, Putin's gigantic Russian oil company. Rosneft and Exxon have been trying to get permits to work together finding oil in the Arctic, but so far have been unsuccessful. If the CEO of Exxon becomes S of S, they stand a better chance of dominating world oil.

Seems like a lot of connections with Russia in the Trump world, doesn't it?

The two oil companies had intended to tap into Russia's bounty of over 191 billion acres of offshore Arctic oil as part of their joint venture. (However, that was before the U.S. sanctioned Russia for its incursion in Crimea, which has temporarily halted the drilling plans.) The two companies also co-run the Arctic Research and Design Center for Continental Shelf Development in Russia, in which Exxon maintains a 33.33 percent stake.

Exxon, the top U.S. producer of oil and gas and a well-documented funder of climate science denial, actually leases more land in Russia than it does in the U.S.

You do realize the CEO of a multinational corporation having "no political experience" is an absurdity?! Exxon has massive experience, for instance, with Nigeria, because there's lots of off-shore oil there. And pirates.

When you're trying to complete the formation of a government that is of, by, and for corporations, you want businessmen at the highest levels of government, not politicians who represent The People ... The heart of fascism is the marriage of government and big business ... Is that dangerous? ... Obviously, yes.
