How do I login into google classroom as a student?

I have an assignment due in a google classroom. Whenever I use my normal google account it displays a message saying that it is not an account for apps (it thinks I'm a teacher I think). So one of my friends told me to login using my district account (the one involved with school loop) but I still fail to login because my district email is not a gmail account. Anyone know what to do?
