How many people join the military because they have nothing else to do?

If you don't have any skills or education, then the military is often your best option. How many enlist because they simply need something to do?

That probably covers 90% of them. An 18 year old is a kid interested in girls, beer, and cars. He is fed the "fighting for our freedoms" line. He swallows it to justify what he's doing.

About 75% join for either college money or just to have a job while they decide what they want to do with the rest of their life.

The other 25% is split between people who have always wanted to join the military, and people who want to try it and see if they like it and then maybe make a career out of it later.
