I want to work, but I have anxiety and depression. Can someone give me advice on how to deal with this?
I just got my first job and I'm very scared that I will mess up and get fired. I will be working as a cashier at a grocery store. I'm extremely socially awkward but I need this job. The manager said that he would give me a chance because no one else will hire me. I don't want to let him down. I don't have an outgoing personality. Can someone help me? :(

If you're not currently in therapy, please make an appointment with a licensed mental health professional, such as a clinical psychologist (PhD or PsyD) or a licensed-clinical social worker (LCSW). One can learn some coping strategies, and stress management techniques, such as "deep (abdominal) breathing," to help with anxiety, for instance.
Perhaps you can ask management if you may write down info to help you feel more at ease with the cashier tasks. I've noticed in myself that anxiety might result in having more difficulty with processing info, so taking notes of the instructions may apparently put one's mind at more ease and possibly help with focus and concentration.
This website should have some local counseling agencies:
https://findtreatment.samhsa.gov/ and can type one's zip code or state of residence into search.
Their toll-free 24/7 ** referral ** hotline:
The Anxiety and Depression Association of America has more general info re: anxiety disorders and mood disorders (though, *not* in place of professional evaluation and treatment):
For more info re: the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (eeoc) website has more general info (though, *not* in place of legal advice):
