Legal consent in Alabama?
My 16 year old daughter is pregnant by her 19 year old boyfriend. What is the law for that in Alabama?

Alabama statutory rape law is violated when an individual over age 18 (or 16 or older if the victim is at least 2 years younger than the offender) engages in sexual intercourse with a person over the age of 12 and under age 16
You have no recourse and no crime has been committed so YOU are safe (my daughter indeed)

Age of consent is incredibly important in Alabama. An individual who is 19 years old or older has sexual contact with someone who is younger than 16 but older than 12 has committed sexual abuse. If they conceived the child prior to her turning 16 and after he turned 19 he could be charged.

Age of consent is 16, legal for them to have sex.

If she consented, there isn't much you can do but, while she lives under your roof, you can take out a restraining order against him. Do that and take her to get an abortion. Tell her that it is unacceptable that her education stops at 16. Be prepared for a fight but do fight back. Get loud if you have to. Tell her she was irresponsible, stupid, has loose morals and if she insists on keeping the child, ask her how she plans to support it and where she plans to live. You are not responsible for her child and have no intention of taking on the liability or responsibility for her child. Don't let her get the upper hand. Her future is too important.Source(s): Certified Paralegal, with 25+ years' experience.

She is over 16 so can have sex with whomever she wants.
Damn stupid but legal (getting pregnant, that is).

The law is that both people are over 16, so no crime has been committed.

You re daughter is underage, her boyfriend is 19 which is an adult. That s rape and he can get in huge trouble. The only way to bypass this is if they get married. But I doubt you want your daughter get married at such a young age.
