What is the best alternate procedure to a hip replacement.?

My mother is 93. She can't have a hip replacement due to very low platelet levels that cannot be raise for a long period of time.. What else can be done

What is wrong that she would otherwise have it done? Did she break her hip or are we just talking about degenerative joint problems?
