Why do liberals think that the year on our calendar is somehow an argument in favor of their positions?

Last time I checked, right and wrong don't care whether it's 1850 or 2016.

but...but...but we need blah, blah, blah...because it's blah, blah, blah year!

It's an argument that idiots usually bring up when they run out of intelligent things to say. ...and that's usually because they never actually heard someone on MSNBC debate the topic with an educated dissenter of their opinion.

In 1850 a good number of people thought slavery was right. The Bible backs them up on that. We now assume slavery to be wrong. But somehow since then the Bible was "reinterpreted" to also mean it was wrong. So the year on the calendar does seem to have some effect on what is right and wrong.

In 1850 it was still okay to "own" a black person, women could not vote, and tobacco use was still considered "efficacious for good health"....

If YOU are too poorly-educated to grasp that what we understand to be reasonable, or right, or wrong, changes over time, then it comes as no surprise that you still live in THIS; http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/ , LOL!

    Time to wise up, Cleetus!

Funny, considering that cons want to take America back to the 1800's when blacks and women knew their place and did as they were told. I imagine that is the "right" you refer to.

There were a lot of wrongs in 1850. it is our job to correct them and make society give a fair deal to ALL CITIZENS.

Because some ignorant cons believe right and wrong are written in stone and only they can interpret it!

And, yet, it is NOT 1850, and life is quite different now than it was then. Surely, you comprehend that?
