    k of a single rubber band used in slighshot:

    F = kx

    15 = k(0.01)

    k = 15/0.01 = 1500 N/m

    In parallel two rubber bands would act like one that had a K = 2(1500) = 3000 N/m

    When stretched 0.21 m, two bands would have SPE = 1/2K(0.21)² = 1500(0.21)² = 66.15 ≈ 66 J ANS (a)

    Speed of stone:

    KE = SPE

    1/2mV² = 66.15

    0.5(0.060)V² = 66.15

    V² = 66.15/0.030 = 2205

    V = 46.96 ≈ 47 m/s ANS (b)
