I am currently using a acer chromebook with a dual boot linux os with kde. When I recently tried getting on, it said no screens found.?

It sounds to me, like you did not follow the "chrubuntu" Dual Boot Instructions to the letter.
Did you remove the small (Write-Protect screw) inside your ChromeBook to unlock the SSD Drive, so you could install a bootable version of Ubuntu or Linux Mint on to the SSD.
I used the Crouton Method which runs Linux concurrently with Chrome, and it worked like a charm. But sadly, my laptop needs a 120 GB SSD or larger to benefit from a full-blown version of Linux Mint. More info here:
