As far as religion is concerned what is the main difference between a man and a gorilla?

Update:

Is there an afterlife for gorillas?

According to Genesis in Hebrew, both man and gorilla, (and all animals), are souls. This is unclear in English, because the same Hebrew word, נֶ֤פֶשׁ ne-p̄eš, is eisegetically translated as "soul" when it refers to man, but as "creature" when it refers to animals:

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." - Genesis 2:7 (KJV)

"And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so."- Genesis 1:24

Therefore, the soul is not the difference between man and gorilla. Neither is the spirit:

"19For what happens to people also happens to animals—a single event happens to them: just as someone dies, so does the other. In fact, they all breathe the same way, so that a human being has no superiority over an animal. All of this is pointless. 20All of them go to one place: all of them originate from dust, and all of them return to dust.

21Who knows whether the spirit of human beings ascends, and whether the spirit of animals descends to the earth?" Ecclesiastes 3 (ISV)

That leaves intelligence, speech, and opposable thumbs, which aren't necessarily religious concepts. However, God created man in His own image, so that man has dominion over the earth, as God has dominion over the universe.

Man is given the dominion over nature and is given the wisdom to know what is good. Jesus tells us to seek and use this wisdom and we determine that we should take responsibility in sustaining nature which includes gorillas and their habitats.

Man alone was made in Gods image. None of the beasts was

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

You don't even know what religion means, so there is no point in discussing it.

Here is a very long essay that touches on the subject: http://viewzone.com/state-of-mind/01.html
