A motor is something that makes something else move. The engine in a car is called a motor although the word is also used in some parts of the English speaking world to describe the car itself. (Originally, the expression "motor car" was used to differentiate an automobile from a horse drawn vehicle).
Any electric device with moving parts is propelled by an electric motor. Motor is also used to describe the mechanism that makes parts of the body move - hence motor neurone disease.

you are infact talking about the sparkplug which is powered by the battery. Whether electric or gas, there's an auxilary battery for the lighting system, heater, etc.
