Because it's a hidden illness, and those who don't have it just tell those who do to "get over it.". Just like anxiety(Which I have... severely), people say "oh get over it, you'll be fine." When these hidden illnesses literally change your brain and body. There are MRI's on someone with and without depression, and they are very different. Depression is a real issue, freakin Robin Williams killed himself over it, but did anybody know? No, because it's a hidden illness that nobody has sympathy for. Sorry for that little rant, but it really erks me that people don't take depression seriously. People who don't have it say "Get over it", or "Suck it up." when it's not easy. I myself am not clinically depressed, but I've known people who were and I've felt depressed many times. It sucks. It takes everything to get out of bed in the morning for some people. It's ******* sad that nobody gives a **** about it, and that needs to change, but it never will because nobody in this world gives enough damns to do so. Again, mini rant, my bad.
