Most replacements parts are made of titanium. However, around the ball joint, is a type of silicon, so there's no metal on metal.

Probably titanium as all stems are. It is used in replacement of shoulder joint in humans. Depuy is made by Johnson & Johnson. Why? Is your vet planning to give your dog a reverse shoulder joint replacement????
