What are the consequences in the state of Maryland for falsely pulling the fire alarm?


My teachers at school told me at school that pulling the fire alarm without a real fire is worth only a fine, but my friend says you can be arrested. What are the consequences in the state of Maryland? Can you help?

    He has been referred to the Department of Juvenile Services pending further actions. The false activation of a fire alarm has a penalty of up to 5 years imprisonment and/or $5,000 in fines per count charged.

    FALSE FIRE ALARM: DSFM Don Brenneman investigated a false fire alarm at Great Mills High School. The incident occurred March 25 at approximately 1:42 p.m. A 17 year-old male student has been charged with intentionally pulling a false fire alarm on the first floor by the cafeteria. Approximately 1,700 students and staff had to evacuate the school. The youth was released into the custody of his mother. His name was also referred to the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services for further action.

    yes most have a fine

    but there are several other charges they can charge you with and that can include being arrested and jail time

    and if someone get hurt trying to get out of the building that's on you

    not arrested. You will be supsended. along with a fine
