Yes, Trump's lawsuit with Univision is frivolous and mean-spirited. Univision canceled the Miss USA pageant due to racist claims made by Trump during his campaign kickoff back in June. Trump claims that Univision broke a business agreement that the two sides had made years prior that gave Univision the right to air the pageant in Spanish. In reality, Univision had the full right to back out of this business deal. The guy has a history of suing pundits, media corporations, and companies whom he either disagrees with or can not handle criticism from. In 2005, Trump sued Timothy O' Brien (the author of Trump Nation) because he claimed that O'Brien underestimated his wealth. He went on to lose that case. Trump sued talk show host Bill Maher over a claim that Maher would give Trump $5 million if he could prove that he did not belong to the orangutang family. Trump does not sue to win, he sues to show off his power, and to intimidate.

Well Univision did break a contract supposedly worth a lot of money. Maybe that sort of thing happens a lot in the entertainment business, but in some businesses that can be a big deal.

The defamation part of Trump's lawsuit is another matter. Defamation suits by politicians and public figures are very difficult to win, since they have to prove actual malice.

Whether Univision likes it or not, Trump basically was direct and told the truth about some illegal Mexicans.

Univision's ratings are mostly from Mexicans and so that's why their agenda was to drop the Miss Universe pageant.

If Univision had a legal binding contract with Trump and they faltered, then a lawsuit would be inevitable.

Insulting the broadcaster's audience and then suing when they cancel you seems frivolous to me. I suspect Univision may settle for a sum less than it would cost to pay for a legal defense and trump can beat his orangutan chest in victory.

It's fine, only mexicans watch that, and they will all be gone when Trump wins.

I hope that channel just rotts with all those turds when they are sent back to mexico.

That really is going to depend on the for use wording of the contract and if it prevents them from backing out of the deal they were in

    No, they violated their contract.

It was a binding legal agreement that even LIBERALS have to follow.
