How do you calculate the volume of O2 produced at standard conditions of temperature and pressure?

Volume of O2 produced at room conditions=290 ml

Barometric pressure= 740 torr

Temperature of water=24°C

Termperature of O2=25°C

Vapor Pressure due to water at 25°C =22.4 torr

    First correct the pollection pressure for the

    vapor pressure of the water:

    P1 = P1* - Pvw

    P1 = 740 torr - 22.5 torr = 717.5 torr

    You have for a fixed mass or moles of Ideal Gas :

    ( P2 ) ( V2 ) / ( T2 ) = ( P1 ) ( V1 ) / ( T1 ) = PV/T = nR = Constant

    ( Pstp ) ( Vstp ) / ( Tstp ) = ( P1 ) ( V1 ) / ( T1 )

    Vstp = ( V1 ) ( P1 / Pstp ) ( Tstp / T1 )

    Vstp = ( 290 mL ) ( 717.5 torr / 760 torr ) ( 273.2 K / 298.2 K )

    Vstp = 251 mL at STP <---------
