    Hola, Bobby:

Let's see if I can help you, amigo.

    – You don't have to do all of them, don't stress yourself. Just please try to pick one that your confident with then maybe explain how you got the answer.

    – Well, you are REALLY nice and thoughtful. What a surprise on this site! 😊

    ----------------------------

I think it will help you a lot to bear this in mind:

► VERB ENDINGS FOR THE PRESENT TENSE

----------------------------- '-AR' VERBS ---- '-ER' VERBS ---- '-IR' VERBS

    Yo ------------------------- -O ------------------ -O ------------------ -O

    Tú ------------------------- -AS ----------------- -ES ---------------- -ES

    Él/Ella/Usted ------------ -A ------------------ -E ------------------ -E

    Nosotros/as ------------- -AMOS ------------ -EMOS ----------- -IMOS

    Vosotros/as ------------- -ÁIS ---------------- -ÉIS --------------- -ÍS

    Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes ---- -AN ---------------- -EN ---------------- -EN

    ----------------------------

    In your sentences:

Fill in the blank with the correct conjugation of the verb in parenthesis.

    1- Yo (open) los regalos.

    A: (Yo) abro (= I open) <--- I think it's this one but I'm not sure. YOU'RE RIGHT. ✔

    B: (Nosotros/as) abrimos (= We open)

    C: (Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes) abren (= They/You all open)

    D: (Él/Ella/Usted) abre (= He/She/(formal) You open)

    -----------------------------

2- Mi amiga Rosa (has a birthday) mañana.

    A: (Él /ELLA/Usted) cumple años ✔

    B: (Yo) cumplo años

    C: (Nosotros/as) cumplimos años

    D: (Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes) cumplen años <----- Not sure ✘

NOTE: The subject of this sentence is 'Rosa' (= 'Ella' / 'She'). Then, the appropriate verb form is 'cumplE'.

    -----------------------------

3- Nosotros _____ cinco kilÓmetros cada dÍa.

A: (Nosotros/as) corremos <----- Almost positive, given the "Nosotros" before the verb. ✔

    B: (Yo) corro

    C: (Vosotros/as) corrÉis

    D: (Ellos/Ellas/Ustedes) corren

    -----------------------------

    4- Saúl y yo ______ una carta.

    A: reciben

B: recibo <----- Just like the first problem: the "yo" before the verb makes the verb end with "o." ✘

    C: recibes

    D: recibimos ✔

NOTE: The subject of this sentence is not 'Yo', but 'Saúl y yo' (= Él y yo = 'Nosotros' / 'He and I' = 'We').

Then, the appropriate verb form is 'recibiMOS'.

    Confront:

    • YO recibO una carta.

    (= I receive a letter.)

    • Saúl recibE una carta. (= ÉL recibE una carta.)

    (= HE receives a letter.)

    • Saúl y yo recibiMOS una carta. (= Él y yo recibiMOS una carta = NOSOTROS recibiMOS una carta.)

    (= Saúl and I receive a letter. = He and I receive a letter. = WE receive a letter.)

    -----------------------------

5- Choose the sentence that is grammatically correct.

A: Ella abres los regalos. -- "She opens the gifts," although it could be worded a bit wrong.

    The correct sentences would be:

    • ELLA abrE los regalos. (= She opens the gifts.)

    or:

    • TÚ abreS los regalos. (= You open the gifts. - informal)

B: Elisa abrimos los regalos. <------ "Elisa opened the gifts." I think this is the correct one. NO, NO. ✘

    The correct sentences would be:

    • Elisa abrE los regalos. = ELLA abrE los regalos. (= SHE opens the gifts.)

    or:

    • NOSOTROS abriMOS los regalos. (= WE open the gifts.)

C: TÚ abres los regalos. <---- Could it be "You open the gifts?" THIS IS THE RIGHT ONE! ✔ ✔

This means: YOU open the gifts. (informal)

D: TÚ abro los regalos. Does not make sense. NO, IT DOESN'T.

    The correct sentences would be:

    • YO abrO los regalos. (= I open the gifts.)

    or:

    • TÚ abrES los regalos. (= YOU open the gifts. - informal)

    Saludos. ㋡
