Best order to read the Anne of Green Gables books?
I m confused in which ones to read first second, third, etc. Also, is Anne of Windy Willows a book? I see it in some book lists but not in others. Is there prequels to the book or just sequels? And which ones are about her children? Thanks. And no spoilers please!

if you want to read them in chronological order, it goes like this:
Anne of green gables
Anne of Avonlea
Anne of the Island
Anne of Windy willows (windy poplars in the US )
Anne's House of Dreams
Anne of Ingleside
Rilla of Ingleside
(The last three books are mainly about Anne's children and their friends).
The books were not all written in chronological order. the first three books were, but then the next one to be written was 'Anne's house of dreams' which is about Anne's early married life. Then the next two to br written were 'rainbow valley' (about anne's children and their friends, and 'Rilla of ingelside' (about anne's children grown up). Then 'Anne of Windy Poplars/Willows' which is about Anne's time as principle of a school before her marriage, and then finally 'Anne of Ingleside' which is about Anne's children when they were young and is set before 'rainbow valley'.
it is probsbly best to read them chronologically rather than in order of publication if you like a logical chronology.

It's not going to harm you to read them out of order or simply in the order they were published.
