    If you want to go back to your last version try clicking Start, Settings, Update & security, Recovery, Go back to (last version)

    If that does not work it will depend on if M$ erase your recovery partition. Keep in mind if the recovery partition is there and you use it then all data will be lost. You should back up anything you want to keep.

    Try recovery from the recovery partition

    When you press the power button start tapping the F key for your puter and the BIOS menu will open. Select recovery from the menu, answer the question and the recovery should begin. Depending on your puter this will take one to two hours.

    Manufacturers BIOS menu F key

    HP/Compaq ESC

    ASUS Del

    Sony F2

    Samsung F4

    Gateway, eMachines F10

    Acer, Dell, Fijitsu, Gigabyte, Toshiba F12

    Your BIOS menu should look something like this. Yours might be different. I am posting this to give you an idea of what it looks like.

    ESC = BIOS menu

    F1 = System Info

    F2 = System Diagnostic

    F9 = Boot Device options

    F10 = BIOS Setup

    Why you should go back, It is spyware masquerading as an OS.

    I would stay with 7, it is going to be the last good release from M$.

    M$ has decided it can install anything it wants on your puter anytime it wants. Their attitude is, tough we now control you and your puters and there is nothing you can do about it.

    By default it logs just about everything you do.

    They say you can opt out of it but it still phones home, it's a trap

    Then there is the matter of not being able to turn off auto updates or selecting what they install. In other words with Windows 10 M$ can install anything they want on your puter.

    They have a bad track record with updates, but now it will get worse.

    I saved the worse for last. The other reason for forcing updates on you is to also force new releases of the OS on you. They call it Windows as a service. This means the next time they have a Vista or Windows 8 you will not have a choice to update to it. They will use your auto update feature to force it down your throat. Everone knows the history of M$ and how bad they can be in detroying a good OS.

    Source(s): TWB 35+ years of experience in the service industry. You name it, I have probably fixed it. I did not design it, I did not build it, I did not break it, but I am the one who can fix it. What that means is that I have spent a life time taking these things apart and seeing how they are made. The difficult we do right away, the impossible just takes a little longer. I hear voices, so please be quite so I can listen to them.

    Hi there.

    I switched over from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and I do NOT have any problems with the operating system. I am using Windows 10 on a laptop (non-touch screen), so the interface is a lot better than Windows 8 to use. If you're coming from Windows 8, then Windows 10 will remind you of a modern version of Windows 7. However, there are already pre-installed programs in Windows 10 which may slow down your start up initially, but luckily Microsoft has unlocked the pre-installed programs to be able to uninstall them. However, the start up is improved from Windows 8 - faster. It may be a little bit confusing to use in the beginning, just because it is still new to use - but otherwise, there are no breaks in code that I have found.

    Also, after reading Happy Gramp's answer, I'd like to say that the issue they are having with shutting down is NOT normal - even after updating from Windows 7. "Shut Down" is still separate from "Sleep," where each power option has their own power mode. So, to Happy Gramp I would suggest to contact Microsoft support to get help with that.

    Don't upgrade to win 10. It is full of spyware and a bunch of other crap. Win 7 was Microsoft's last good OS. Do yourself a favor and don't

    • I already did....obviously Ineed to just uuninstall it and go back to windows 7. But then how come I am unable to download or view docx. from a site?

    your question is very incomplete...........are you asking if others have had problems, or trying to write that your pc is having problems ??? providing that info will get you answers, but I can tell you that the 2 things I have had are (1) slower startup than W7 pro and (2) to shut down, the "shift" key has to be held down when the shut down is clicked ; not holding the shift key results in the pc going into sleep mode

    • Sorry yahoo wasn't allowing me to put in the details, I posted a more detailed question. But anyways, ever since I installed it I haven't been able to get a wireless connection... I'm not impressed with it at all
