Is Taylor Swift better than Mariah Carey since she has more Grammys than Mariah Carey?
Taylor has 7 Grammys and 220 awards while Mariah Carey has 5 Grammys and 225 awards and Taylor might win a lot more and suprass Mariah total awards. So is she better than Mariah Carey?
BQ- Will Taylor still be popular or remembered in 10 years?

No. Grammy Awards don't really mean anything other than showing how successful an artist has become.
To quote Maynard James Keenan from the band Tool:
"I think the Grammys are nothing more than some gigantic promotional machine for the music industry. They cater to a low intellect and they feed the masses. They don't honor the arts or the artist for what he created. It's the music business celebrating itself. That's basically what it's all about."
And considering that some Grammys have been awarded based on commercial success rather than critical success, I think that further reinforces Keenan's statement.
It's silly to say one artist is better than another based on how many awards they've won, especially with Grammy Awards. Unless you're going by terms of success then Mariah Carey would actually be better than Taylor Swift in that sense. The latter might have won more awards but the former is one of the best-selling artists of all time, selling over 200 million records worldwide. Taylor Swift doesn't even come close with 40 million records sold.
Now we can count the amount of awards and record sales they've achieved but in the end, it's all based on personal preference. If you like Taylor Swift better than Mariah Carey then she is better and vice versa if you like Mariah Carey better.
BQ: Perhaps. But if so, I guarantee you she won't have the same legacy as Mariah Carey has, being recognized as one the best-selling acts of all time as mentioned before. As well as arguably being the most versatile vocalist in popular music, having a five-octave vocal range. Can Taylor Swift say the same?

In terms of singing, no. Mariah Carey's singing range is--or at least was--pretty dang good, while Taylor is more of a paint-by-the-numbers singer. Not in a bad way, it's just that she's not distinguishable.
As for the next 10 years, I think Taylor will be remembered and popular, but more or less in the same boat that Mariah Carey is in now. She will have a gigantic fanbase and will be known as a huge artist of her time, but she won't have as much success with music and franchise sales.

No its all about how you view it. Everyone knows all the music awards shows are a joke. The outcome of each and every category is predetermined, there are plenty of instances in the past 5 years alone. Also Carey is much older than Swift so she has way more material out. Their fan bases are also way different. How they are different is left up to the individual fan, its their decision soley. Careys career started way before Swifts and in the industry they are both in time you started is very critical to how much you are successful. Whether its based on their own individual opinion or the opinions of others. Swift is not even 30 and the way she started God only knows where she is going to go. Careys career is nothing to sneeze at either. But to gauge them based on awards is not fair. Because awards only tell one part of the story and its not necessarily the most important thing. Its not exactly an unbiased view. They both are very successful in their own way. Just different ones.

no either of them will be remember in 10 years. they have done nothing to contribute to music. they are just a performer that made it big during their genre's time. Mariah was big during the diva days, but now and days she is old news and nobody really cares to listen to her. Taylor will be in the same boat once the teeny bopper rage is over too.

Neither yes nor no. Music, like many other things in life, is largely a matter of opinion. Also, popularity is not the same as quality. You can have popularity without having good quality (example: McDonald's).
