Is it mandatory to study X amount of hours prior to GED testing or can you jsut take it whenever?

Just wondering if it is mandatory or if you can just pop into a GED testing facility and take a test if you have the money. Also, is there somewhere online to study for it or do I have to physically go into a classroom or resource center to study in person.

It's not mandatory, but it's beneficial. The GED test is pretty difficult. You can get study guides online or there are tutoring sessions you can attend.

You can get GED study guide books on line at Amazon.com or go into your public library.

You need to register and pay the fee on line to take the exam.

Test dates and testing sites will be listed.

Studying is not mandatory. How would they enforce that? Signing up is mandatory, however. There's usually a waiting list.
