My parents hate my boyfriend?

I'm 16 years old and my parents hate my boyfriend. Like HATE. They don't want me to be around him, talk to him, or anything, but I've known him for around a year and I can honestly say he's my soul mate, without question.

The reason they hate him is because of his past, we're the same age and he's very respectful of them and everyone else, but they just hate him because of the things he's done.
