B vitamins are supplied in quantity by meat, plus a broader spectrum of essential proteins.
It is very difficult to get enough B 12 on a veggie diet and for young people brain development may be inhibited if raised on a veggie diet alone unless supplements are taken.
That is not to say there are No other sources for essential nutrients, but meat helps and unless your vegetarian diet is very carefully managed you may risk inadequate quantities of some nutrients.

Meat contains all the amino acids. You can get them from a vegetarian diet, but it has to be well balanced.
