I suggest that you read something before quoting it or pulling examples from it. If you actually read the bible then maybe you will see what a wonderful thing it is, and how it teaches acceptance and love rather than how you see it because you've played a game of telephone with your other spiteful religion hating comrades. The "killing of homosexuals" "killing women for lying about being a virgin" "men selling their daughters for slavery" you're completely taking out of context. In all those scenarios you just put forth, God did not approve of those acts. The majority of the time he punished people harshly for committing those acts. And when they didn't listen, he sent his son Jesus Christ to talk with them and teach them face to face. Try looking at the story of the prostitute the town wanted to stone and then Jesus went forth in front of the crowd and said, "let him who is without sin cast the first stone."
You seem to have this broad, very wrong, opinion about conservatives and Christians that sadly many people do. It's the popular opinion, but in the majority of cases, it is wrong. I am a 19 year old, female, Non denomination, Christian, right wing, conservative. I hate no one, through the teachings of God and the bible, I have learned to accept and love people more than I ever did before. There was more hate and fire in my heart than there is now. I do not believe that what he did is right under any circumstances, but I do believe that if he has truly repented then it is God's job to take care of the rest. It is not my place to judge anyone. No matter what ethnicity, social status, gender, sexual preference, or sexual orientation. No one deserves to die just because they think or act differently. And it is not our place down here on earth to point fingers and shame some one for sinning. I've sinned a lot in my life, but I have been forgiven for each and every one. You've sinned and have also been forgiven.
So please, before you generalize and spit fire at a giant group of people, try and figure out what we're really all about. Also, treat the bible like a text book. I'm not asking you to believe in it, I can't force you to, but actually do your research before you start throwing random "facts" about the bible around. Because everything you have said about it is false. You don't have to believe in it, but it would really help your understanding in a debate if you knew what you were talking about fully. P.S. my excerpt is from John 8:7 John is a wonderful relevant place to start your research if you want to take my advice.
