No. That would be a first amendment issue. But it is a serious problem. It is something that "Craig" needs to address on his own if "he" has any morals at all. You do not see this kind of thing on eBay because users are registered and can not avoid identification - you can not register without a bank account and you can not get a bank account without presenting ID. Craigslist needs to do something similar - some form of identity verification. As it is now, it is a field day for people with bad intentions. Just ask Taylor Clark - oh wait, you can't. He is dead. Murdered during a Craigslist car sale.

Craigslist did not commit those murders, the people did it. Like any website, it is some messed up people who use Craigslist and who because of there deranged state of mind, who indulge in such actions.

Craigslist is simply an easy way of people to advertise whatever they wish to.

What you are saying is similar to saying that Yahoo should be deleted / removed / blocked forever because it is forever depicting news about Kartrashians and about IS / ISIS / CIA etc.

Same as if someone got killed answering a classified ad in the newspaper. You can't close a company just because someone is using it for the wrong reasons.

Same like this Yahoo! Answers, what if someone gives a bad answer and someone dies? It isn't Yahoo! Answers fault.

    • Well actually for the two examples you site, there is some culpability and they could indeed be sues in a civil court. The problem is Craigslist does no check of their customers - no paper trail. A newspaper ad is linked to some form of payment, thus a paper trail.

Craiglist has been around for a while. I think internet safety would be discussed over and over again before ever deleting craiglist.
