spend money + Ving / to V ??

1. Although Mr. Chen is rich, he is a very stingy person and is never willing to spend any money _____ those who are in need.

(A) help

(B) to help

(C) helping

(D) helped

2. We spent nearly two full days _____ the exhibits.

(A) visit

(B) to visit

(C) visiting

(D) visited

Update:

Ving

Mr. Chen never spend any money _____ those who are in need.

We were willing to spend nearly two full days _____ the exhibits.

所以是be willing to在影響答案嗎 ?

Update 2:

Ving

Mr. Chen is never willing to spend any money.

We spent nearly two full days.

I've spent all my money already.

Update 3:

I'm too lazy to spend my entire day dedicated to cooking.

Update 4:

我的書寫 dedicate to = be dedicated to 通用

Update 5:

I'm too lazy to spend my entire day studying/to study. 都對?

    1. Although Mr. Chen is rich, he is a very stingy person and is never willing to spend any money to help those who are in need.

這裡的 to help 是 in order to help, 表示做這件事情的目的.

    2. We spent nearly two full days visiting the exhibits.

Although Mr. Chen is rich, he is a very stingy person and is never willing to spend any money helping those who are in need.

Mr. Chen never spent any money helping those who are in need.

We were willing to spend nearly two full days visiting the exhibits. 可是第一句, 拿掉了to help those who are in need 之後的句子還是完整的.

這是因為dedicate的用法本身就是be dedicated to. I am dedicated to cooking in the entire day.

I dedicate to cooking in the entire day.

I dedicated myself to do something = I was dedicated to do something

But you don't say, "I dedicated to do something."

I tend to agree that both "to V" and Ving are fine.

    That is both

to spend $ to help ...

    and

    to spend $ helping...

    are fine.
