How do you say "in my face" in Japanese.?

I told our foreign exchange student Kazuma that I cut my bangs and he asked why. I want to say "because they were in my face" but I'm pretty sure that's an idiom and they wouldn't literally say "in my face" otherwise I would know how to say that lol. How would the Japanese say it?

    How about:

    じゃまだったから。jama datta kara.

    うっとうしかったから。uttoushikatta kara.
