Is it safe to build a pc on a card table, or will the vinyl top cause problems.?

Update:

I will be using anti-static wrist strap attached to the computer case.

Should be OK as long as you keep things grounded. Don't be sliding things around on the vinyl, that generates static. And invest in a wrist strap for grounding yourself too. Don't simply use a grounded wire, you're running the risk of a fatal electrical shock.

Google ESD or Electro Static Discharge.

    Hope this helps.

the vinyl won't cause issues but the heat emitted from the bottom of the pc may be bad for the vinyl.
