Why has no Country ever defeated Afghanistan,And would you say its the strongest hold for Terrorist?

Because like unlike Iraq.......... where you had a state figurehead to capture and hang....... what constitutes "defeat" in a wasteland? Nobody ever "won" there, because there was nothing to win. ....no one person or entity to beat...........just various tribal leaders, who controlled their little pissant region, and weren't really in charge, of anything,

We bombed the crap out of Tora Bora and what did it get us? We turned their dustbowl into .....the same dustbowl is was. We knocked the Taliban from power, and installed an ineffective corrupt idiot.....who doesn't control 90% of the country, and lives in fear of being assassinated, and barely holds onto his own pissant section of the country. If we took him out, does that mean we win? No, the warlords still control the other 90%. You take 5 of them out, and 10 more pop up. It's like playing whack a weasel at an arcade........

the game only ends when you own quarter runs out. You don't really win anything, but had fun playing,, and they keep your quarter.

Well the current country we call Afghanistan didn't really come into being until 1926. During that time the government has been overthrown around six times both internally and externally. But you could considered it conquered by Ghengis Khan, the British Empire, Alexander the Great, the Soviet Union, Al Queda/Taliban, various local Khans and Shahs, and sorta the US backed Northern Alliance.

What would you have if you did defeat them. It was a useless pile of rocks, inhabited by mostly illiterate peasants before and the same after you won the war. It would cost you a fortune in men and money to keep it occupied as many nations have found out, the 2 latest being the Soviet Union and the USA.
