Is praying 2 rak'at before fajir permissible if you don't pray the fardh (fajr) in the mosque?

Prophet SAW used to pray 2 rak'at in between the first adan and the iqama, then he prays with the jama'a (mosque) after responding to iqama.

If you don't pray with the jama'a but prayed at home after prayer 2 rak'at is still sunnah, rewardable, fine, permissible?
