How do liberals explain the pitiful economic growth in states like Maryland with some of the highest taxes in the nation, while...?

states like Texas, the number one state for business, have the lowest taxes? Coincidence? I think not.

Texas balances the corporate tax breaks on the backs of property owners (highest property taxes in the nation), small business that have to pay a franchise tax, and by pushing normally state-funded projects such as highways, schools and public maintenance down to local county levels.

Fun fact: Know how they got their much-touted "balanced budget" in 2011? With $6 billion stimulus money. Yes, the money that Perry screamed about and then accepted.

Kansas has one of the lowest corporate taxes and their economy is in the toilet.

California has some of the highest and their economy continues to grow.

New Jersey has a property tax rate of 1.89%, and New Hampshire is at 1.86%. http://www.tax-rates.org/taxtables/property-tax-by-state

Most people also ignore the fact that the states that bounce back from economic recessions fastest are those that don't have a state income tax and use a VAT instead.

Why not? Read up on the fair tax. I would love to see it as long as it replaced our current tax system.

As someone who understands economy, I think the Bipartisan-BS is funny.

Growth is a subjective term, and the smaller you make prosperity amongst the people, the bigger the growth will be, so Growth-numbers, eventhough most companies will suggest they're very important(to fool you), for an Individual Person are useless.

I'm not a liberal but I do live in Maryland and the local economy is doing just fine, thanks for your concern. We did lose some jobs to Virginia because it is true, taxes are way high. But we just elected a Republican governor to go back in the other direction and be more business friendly. Although taxes are high in MD, it doesn't touch NY/NJ, and we have great schools, parks, the bay. . .

Gee, I don't know, maybe because we don't tax people for the hell of it. We use those funds to actually accomplish something.

They'll ignore you and spit out some made up figures. If, pushed. They'd rather ignore. Interrupts the mantra of Liberalism.

Liberals with their ever increasing need for more tax dollars to feed the lazy can not imagine the fact that if you tax less, you actually get more tax revenue. The idea is strange to them since their end goal is socialism/communism..

And in order to do that they must make capitalism unworkable with taxes and regulations.

You should read that first article that talks about Texas, that toutes what makes it business friendly, transportation, infrastructure, broadband, but notwhere as you claim does it say that low taxes bring in business. I does however go on to say "Texas falls near the bottom of the rankings in one area: quality of life, where a high uninsured rate has helped to pull the state down to No. 35 in the nation". So, once we have a conservative chearing on big business, cheering reducing taxes while ignoring the fact that as big business win the workin people are getting screwed again.

A little research shows lower taxes are a very real part of it. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-business-is-leaving-california-for-texas-174227275.html

The question is nonsense because the comparison is meaningless, mostly because you haven't bothered to go into any specifics whatsoever.
