Your voice type is determined by your gender, vocal range and your comfortable singing range.

You can use the following video clip to determine both your vocal range and your comfortable singing range:

After you have determined your vocal range and comfortable singing range, you can use the following information to determine your voice type:

The following are the general vocal ranges for adult females:

    Soprano: C4 to C6

    Mezzo-soprano: A3 to A5

    Alto: F3 to F5

The following are the general vocal ranges for adult males:

    Tenor: C3 to C5

    Baritone: A2 to A4

    Bass: F2 to F4

Comfortable singing ranges for adult female and male singers:

You are a soprano if you can comfortably sing in the range from C5 to C6

You are a mezzo-soprano if you can comfortably sing in the range from A4 to A5

You are an alto if you can comfortably sing in the range from F4 to F5

You are a tenor if you are able to sing comfortably in the range from C4 to C5.

You are a baritone if you are able to sing comfortably in the range from A3 to A4

It depends on many factors. Your voice type can also change as you get older so it is age dependent. Have a look at this site to get an idea on the different types of singers that exist.
