Ebola plan, why isn't this happening?

Why are they not shutting down the airports to those coming from that part of Africa?

Personally, I think people that have been exposed to Ebola should be forced to wait 2-3 weeks in Africa and be monitored to see if they show any symptoms before being sent back home.

Why the hell was that doctor so stupid as to come home after treating Ebola patients? When he got back into the states he admitted that he was monitoring himself for symptoms yet he went and exposed himself to friends and a subway! Now a few of his friends are in quarantine.

Do people not have common sense? We're trying to eliminate it not spread it!

The traditional top British Medical journal 'The Lancet' and WHO (the UN World Health Organization) both called months ago for quarantining people from those 3 African country for 21 days there in Africa under WHO before their granted a US visa or getting on a plane, including American medical staff coming home too in their own staff quarantine. Both WHO and Lancet said it makes little sense to allow people who might have a chance of being infected to leave and then chase them down all over earth 'monitoring' them, or let them do 'self monitoring'.

Why quarantine in Africa has not been done I have no idea.

You should have listened to the medical experts from WHO (World Health Organization), the NIH (National Institutes of Health), and the CDC (Center for Communication Diseases) as well as many high-level medical professionals that shutting down the airports or other mass-transit sites would do more harm than good. Americans are free to travel back to the own country, but President Obama has sent troops to handle screenings (temperature taking, other exams) prior to having anyone board a flight or take public transportation while showing any symptoms.

The doctors and nurses who have returned to the U.S. for care have so far been healed. FYI: Ebola is not transmitted like the more dangerous flu---it is not an airborne disease. The only way you can catch Ebola is through an exchange of or contact with bodily fluids (urine, bile, vomit, spit, etc.). Chlorine kills the germs, by the way.

True, it seems reasonable to have the common sense to impose preventive measures such as designating a wind down quarrantine facility for all travellers from the affected part of the world to stay for 3 weeks before going to their own homes.

Maybe these doctors have lost their COMMON SENSE along the way home.

Just under 5000 people have died of Ebola, out of the 20 million who live there. This is 0.025% of their total population. Yes, it is serious, but let's not be crazy!

In my personal opinion ALL travelers from Africa should be banned but that is just me. If the world don't care about the Ebola pandemic then so be it.

Here in England we have illegal immigrants many from Africa waiting at the other side of the Channel Tunnel on the French side hiding in lorries and cars coming here, Who knows what they are carrying or their identity as they just disappear on arrival. Meanwhile, our government just stops people at airports arriving from Africa, and they ,expect us to trust them and be reassured .

As one Whitehouse speaker said before "never let a crisis go to waste"

In this case, just another fear to inudate the western populace to submit to more liberty loss and justification for martial law when the economic collapse occurs.
