In the FBI do you pick what type of gun you use?

    Not really FBI issues two handguns for regular agents. Both are from the same manufacturer. They differ only in grip size and capacity both are .40 cal S&W. Agents may purchase their own off duty and back up guns, again from the same maker (Glock) in 9mm and .45 acp

    FBI issue Glock Model 22 pistol or a Glock 23 i

    Backup allowed Glock 26, 23 ,27 and 21

    HRT and SWAT operators are issued Springfield 1911A1 when called out for service
