Lebanon had a massive civil war in the late '70s early '80s, involving Christians, Shia Muslims, Sunni Muslims, outside parties including PLO movement, Israel, and Syria. Lebanon also has a very rich history, filled with Phoenician, Roman, Arab, French, and Greek influences to name a few. It's pretty much a climate perfect country with plenty of natural beauty and sites to see. People are full of character and diversity; many religions make up the country but it's mainly Christians and Muslims. Lebanon has always been quite the moderate country in the Middle East, though it has its share of problems like many other places. As of right now, there is plenty of instability in the neighboring countries like Syria and the Gaza/Israel situation who recently initiated a seize fire. This is causing a bit of unease in Lebanon. Lebanon has had a recent influx of Syrian citizens fleeing from all of the chaos inside of Syria.
Despite the problems the country currently has, it’s still far from a **** hole as the other two clowns claim it to be. It is quite an amazing place, filled with plenty of kind and fun people that know how to have a good time. Something tells me that if Mr. Frank and Mr. Steve were to get off a plane that landed in Beirut, it would be them who would feel like peasants.
